1995 Fall Meeting
October 14, 1995 - Bethania Lutheran Church, Decorah IA
Bethania Lutheran Church is an historic old Norwegian Lutheran Church that was originally located in rural Northwood ND. It was moved to Decorah and is now owned and cared for by the Vesterheim Museum. Coffee was served at 10 AM in the church parlors. The meeting was called to order at 11 AM. The 1996 7-Lag Stevne will be in Forest City, Iowa. Verlyn encouraged people to submit their family stories for the "Our Hadeland Ancestors" column. It was determined that a microfilm reader and microfilms of Norwegian church and civil records should be purchased for Leslie to use. Donations and memorials will be accepted from the membership for this purpose. Tom Skattum brought greetings from friends and relatives in Hadeland and shared a picture of the King and Queen returning to Norway after World War II. Many members indicated they would be at the receptions for the king and queen in Minneapolis and St Paul. After a delicious buffet of Norwegian delicacies, members toured the Vesterheim while others visited Glenwood Lutheran Church, a beautiful old stone church in rural Decorah.
