Privacy Statement

The Hadeland Lag of America website respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. You can visit us without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. This website does not use cookies.

The Lag's website provides links to third-party websites for your convenience and information.  Other websites may have privacy policies that differ from ours. Although we recommend the content of these third-party websites, we do not endorse or make any representations about their privacy policies or practices.

You have the option of placing personal information on the site's inquiry board or in its guestbook. If you choose to offer this information we ask that you be aware that this information will be displayed on a public website and as such will be available to anyone. You should therefore use discretion. You have the right to request the removal of any entry you or your children have made. We reserve the right to delete any entry that we feel contains inappropriate content.

The website includes a number of on-line forms (e.g., Immigrant Submission Form, Brua Request Form).  Your responses are forwarded via email to the entity indicated. They are not saved in any database on or off this website and will only be used for the purpose stated on the form.

Non-personal information is data about usage that is not associated with a specific personal identity. We count which pages are visited and how often, browser type, referring URLs, and IP address. This statistical information is summarized and evaluated to improve site content, organization and navigation.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and adhere to C.O.P.P.A. We encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Our interactive pages (guestbook, etc.) are monitored so that any entry deemed to be inappropriate (either by virtue of content or the amount of personal information revealed) is removed quickly. Parents and/or guardians have the right to ask us to delete an entry made by a child at any time.

The Lag maintains a library of genealogical information that can be accessed on-line by members who have a user id and password.  A secure database is maintained on-line listing valid user ids and passwords; no names or other personal information appear in this database.

A variety of Hadeland Lag products are made available for sale through cafepress.com; purchasing activity is covered by the Cafepress.com privacy policy.
