 Born October 10, 1840 on Fragodt farm  Emigration: May 13, 1870 aboard the "Nova Scotian" arriving May 28, 1876 in Quebec.   Residences: Mitchell IA, 2 1/2 yrs; Yellow Medicine County MN, 41 yrs; Chippewa County MN, 4 yrs.  Occupation: Farmer and blacksmith; held township government postions for many years besides various positions in the congregation  Military Service: 1876 Second Battery, Hospital Guard  Church: Lutheran  Married Josefine Borgeson Havkloen from Nordmarken on November 6, 1876.   Children: Maria, Dina, Tilla, Petter, Caroline, Lise, Bernhard, Bjalmar, Eyvind, Olaf. Parents: Father, Lage Larson born on the Wadsjø Farm in Jevnaker parish in Hadeland on March 5, 1800. Parents: Shoemaker Kristen Anderson (b. 1830 in Jørnsløkken) and Inger Marie Gullikson (b. 1834 on Humle in Hurdalen). Friskop (born September 20, 1815; cotter on Nestegge, Brandbu, Hadeland; emigrated 1886 and died while living with his son Anders on February 1, 1897) and Kjersti Pedersdatter Lynnebakken (born in Gran, Hadeland and died while living with her daughter Mrs. Hans J. From Lunner, Hadeland Born July 25, 1868  Emigration: January 22, 1892 aboard the sailing ship "Teutonic," White Star Lines, arriving in New York.  Residences: Vining MN Occupation: General store and Farming  Military Service: Experiences in Norway were begun as a corporal and later became a sergeant  Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church School: Noderhov Middle School, Ringerike Married Ragnhild T. Rustad on November 29, 1906   Children: Hans, born September 16, 1907; Rønaug Margaret, born April 26, 1909.  Parents: Hans M. Frøslie (born July 12, 1836 in Lunner, died December 9, 1904. Farmer with two farms: Frøslie and Melaas. Established and became president of Frøslie Creamery  Siblings: Mons H. Frøslie, Lunner; Anders H. Frøslie, Lunner; Karoline H. Frøslie, Lunner; Thorvald H. Name changed from Frøslie.  Born October 30, 1865 on Frøslie in Hadeland  Emigration: June 25, 1886 aboard the "Germanic" landing in New York.  Residences: Spring Grove MN, 2 wks; Des Moines IA, 1-2 yrs; Vining since April 1, 1887. Occupation: Lumberman; town clerk, 1890, elected to the legislature, 1896. Appointed postmaster on December 11, 1914.   Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church School: Received a diploma from the Ringerikes Middleschool in 1884.  Married Oline Greftegreff on November 7, 1898. She died on January 2, 1913.    Parents: Hans M. Frøslie (born July 12, 1836, farmer on Frøslie, died April 6, 1904) and Ingeborg Gjefsen (1836-1918) Siblings: Mons and Anders, Lunner, hadeland; Mikkal, Vining MN; Hans, Regent ND; Karoline, living on Frøslie in Norway.  Paternal Grandparents: Mons Svinning and Marie (born on Flatla)  Maternal Grandparents: Anders Gjefsen and Kari (born on Klaestad)  Father’s siblings: Lars Froslee, Ingeborg who married a Rakstad; Marie married Paul Dahlin living in Brandbu. All deceased.

Parents: Painter Ole Gunderson Framstad (born on Gran, came to America in 1881 and died the same year) and Pernille Pedersdatter. Name changed from Ole Kjorvenvolden.  Born  in Lunner  Emigration: 1888 aboard the "Pennsylvania" landing in New York, May 26.  Residences: Blanchardville, 43 years Occupation: Farmer, school director, town supervisor  Military Service: Artillery, 3 years in Norway  Church: Lutheran   Married Sophia Paulson on July 4, 1869.   Children: 4 boys and 9 girls, all born in Blanchardville.  Parents: Farmer Gilbert Olson and Carry Vike Siblings: Christopher and Martha, deceased; Maren, Darlington WI.  Paternal Grandparents: Ole Finius and wife Ingeborg  Maternal Grandparents: Jacob and Martha Paulson.

 

19-4 Anton G Grinager                      Clarkfield MN

Born January 25, 1873 on Grinager.  Emigration: April 1892 aboard the "Service."  Residences: Clarkfield, Yellow Medicine County, MN Occupation: Businessman; member of the city council for 3 yrs; town treasurer, one year.   Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church, church trustee for 3 yrs.  Married Anne Bredesen Molstad on April 29, 1897.    Children: Gifford Burnell, born March 17, 1898; Martha Alvine, 8; Alette, 2 1/2 years.

 

19-5 Gunerius G Grinager               Clarkfield MN

Born January 29, 1866 on Grinager  Emigration: May 17, 1897 aboard "Servia" landing June 7th.  Residences: Lisbon, Yellow Medicine County, MN Occupation: Farmer, town clerk until 1898.  Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church  School: Began with private school and tehn high school.  Married Mathea A. Sørum Bjonroen on November 24, 1893.    Children: Amanda, 19; Mabel, 17' George, 13. Parents: Farmer Gudbrand G Grinager (d.1892) and Anne O. Melbostad. Siblings: Ole Grinager, Brandbu; Karoline Skjager, Gran; Gilbert Grinager, Pierpont SD; A. Occupation: Businessman, President Mayville City School Board. Church: Congregational Church School: High School graduate Married Inga B. Lowe on February 5, 1895.  Parents: Farmer Knut H. Grinager and Kjersti Pedersdatter Grinager Siblings: H K Grinager, Pete Grinager, Ole C. Grinager, all of Fergus Falls MN; Mikkel Grinager, Vining MN.  Paternal Grandparents: Haavel Aschim and wife  Father’s siblings: Jens Grinager (He used to perform with Ole Bull); Mikkel Grinager, manager of the Ness Distillery; Maren Grinager, married to Ole Bakke, Brørby.   

 

20-2 Lars H Grinager                          Kindred ND

 Born September 23, 1853, Blockhouse.  Emigration: August 29, 1879 aboard the "Allan" line, arriving in Norman ND September 23.  Residences: Near Kindred ND Occupation: Farmer; National Guard service.   Church: Norwegian Synod  Married Martha E. Vien on March 23, 1882.   Children: Hilda Emelie, Albert Henry, Sophis Leonard, Lillie Eliza Miranda, Anna Melvine. Parents: Halvor Logeson (born Lovelien) and Sigri Steffensdatter Gulstue. Siblings: Steffen Halvorson, Erie MN; Mrs. Valborg Erickson, Deering ND. 

 

20-3 E S Gunderson                            Sacred Heart, Renville County, MN

Name changed from Erik Gundersen Svenbalrud. Born on Svenbalrud in Lunner Annex, Jevnaker.  Emigration: April 16, 1866 aboard sailing ship "Olaf" landing in Quebec June 9.   Residences: Waseca County MN until the fall of 1869 when we left with oxen for a week's trip the 130 miles to Renville County. Occupation: Farmer (no longer); town supervisor, 3 yrs; town treasurer, 3 yrs; town clerk, 17 yrs; justice of the peace, 3 yrs; postmaster for 3 yrs.   Military Service: Soldier in Norway for 2 years  Church: The Norwegian Synod School: Ambulatory school (Editor's Note: this type of school met in various places in the sparsely settled rural areas of Norway) Married Karen Olsen October 27, 1864.   Children: Petra, November 27, 1864; Ole Gunnerius, August 14, 1869-July 4, 1879; Knut Emil, August 30, 1885; Eba Bertine, February 1, 1888-May 25, 1891.  Parents: Guner Eriksen, farmer (born May 18, 1810 on Svenbalrud, died December 26, 1866) and Pernille Ingvalsdatter (April 1, 1816-December 29, 1866).   Paternal Grandparents: Erik Paulsen  Maternal Grandparents: Ingval Olsen Father’s siblings: Siri, Ingeborg, Paul and Mari, all emigrated to America; Erik died in Norway, 1808.    Mother’s siblings: Iver Gundersen, Born february 8, 1851, emigrated to America 1868 and died December 22, 1886.

 

20-4 Nels E Gullerud                           Maddock ND

Born February 18, 1861 on Gullerud farm in Brandbu.  Emigration: May 12, 1882 aboard the "Baltic" landing in New York on June 30th.   Residences: Fargo ND; Colfax ND.  Occupation: Farmer, member of the ND Legislature 1903; count central commission; township supervisor; township assessor. Church: The Norwegian Synod School: High school, then higher education, county school. Married Kjersti H. Lysen on December 16, 1890. Children: Edwin Howard, 22; Anna Caroline, 18; Nora Kristine, 13. Parents: Erik H. Gullerud and Kari Olsdatter, born on Rustaden farm, Aadalen.
