Norskedalen ("Norwegian Valley") is a nature and heritage center dedicated to preserving, interpreting and sharing the natural environment and cultural heritage of the area surrounding Coon Valley in southwest Wisconsin. Dr. Alf Gunderson and his wife Carroll donated the land in 1977 for use as an outdoor laboratory and arboretum. It has since grown to 400 acres and includes the Thrune Visitor's Center, the Bekkum Pioneer Homestead, the Skumsrud-Thrune farm, a heritage trail, the Gundersen Arboretum, numerous hiking trails, streams, and spectacular scenery.
