Children: Gunda and Karl died as infants; Hans, Anna, Inga Marie, Gunda, Caroline, Hilda, Martha, Ellen Amanda, Olaf, and Arthur. Parents: Hans Halvorsen and Ingeborg Olsdatter, both died in America.

Name changed from Nels Torstenson. Born: June 25, 1849 on Lynner-Eiet. Emigration: On the Sailing ship "Munchen," arriving in Clay County in 1871. Occupation: Farmer. Worked on the railroad the first year in America, homesteaded in 1873 and have created a wonderful farm. Married: Berthe Gulbrandsdatter from Rustad in Jevnaker, Hadeland. Children: 9 childred survive, 6 died. Parents: Torsten Nilson and Dorthe Nilsdatter.
