Born: August 31 (?) in Rock Creek, Mitchell County IA    Married: Gustav Krogstad on December 6, 1910.    Parents: Erik Nilsen (born in Hadeland) and Inger Syverud (born in Black Earth WI  Siblings: MMrs. O G Leverson, Milaca MN; T O Nelson, Osage IA; Mary Nelson, Nora Springs IA; Carl Nelson, Nora Springs IA.  Paternal Grandparents: Torgrim Nilsen and wife  Maternal Grandparents: Ole Syverud and wife  Father's Siblings: Mrs. G. 36-2 Kaia Kortgord                              Christine ND

Born: April 11, 1865 in Solør Norway.  Emigration: June 1, 1866 arriving in Quebec August 1.  Residences: Dakota County, 2 yrs; Renville County, 14 yrs; since then in North Dakota.   Church: The Norwegian Synod.    Married: Halvor Anderson on June 11, 1882.    Parents: Peder Kristiansen Kortgord, farmer, and Marthe Semmingsdatter Hagen, Ytre Rendalen. Parents came in America in 1885, settling in ND first in Christine, and then in Lily SD where her father died in 1907 and her mother in 1912.  Siblings: Mrs. Gulbraqn Eriksen, Christine ND; Bernard P Kortgord, Lily SD; Mrs. Rangvald Aker, Lily SD; Peter P. Kortgord, deceased, Christine ND; Marie P. Kortgord, deceased, Lily SD; Martin P Kortgord, Sacred Heart MN.   Paternal Grandparents: Kristian and Berthe Kortgorden  Maternal Grandparents: Seming Hagen and Marit Halvorsdatter, Brend.  Father's Siblings: Oluf, Bernt, Brede, Karelius, Amund, Oline, deceased; Oliane, deceased; Kjesten, Karen, Anne Marie, deceased.   Mother's Siblings: Ragnhild, Seming, Marith, Bersvend,  Tøløv, Simon, all deceased; Siri; only Bersvend came to America.

Born: February 10, 1833 on Knarudshagen in Gran.  Emigration: 1966, landing in Quebec.  Residences: Lansing, 3 yrs; since then Polk County WI.  Occupation: Farmer    Married: Anne Pedersdatter Bjøralt on July 13, 1869. She was born on September 4, 1840 in Lunner.   Parents: Peder Olsen and Kirsti Hansdatter.  Siblings: 6, of whom 2 are living: Martin, in America and a sister in Gran.    

 

36-4 Hans F. Kolkind                             Montevideo MN

Born: October 4, 1863 in Gran.  Emigration: In 1882, aboard the "Hanoverian."  Residences: Chippewa County MN.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.   Married: Kjersti G Schjeager on March 4, 1900. She died on December 17, 1913.  Children: Fredrik H. Kolkind, May 21, 1901.   Parents: Farmer Fredrik H. Kolkind and Mari O. Ensrud.  Siblings: Marthe F Berg, Gran; Bertha F Kolkind, Rudser ND; Mrs. Anne Hilden (deceased).  Paternal Grandparents: Hans and Berte Morstad  Maternal Grandparents: Ole Snellingen and Anne Ensrud.  Father's Siblings: Painter Peder H Morstad; Jørgine Ødegaarden, Lunner; Mari Gippe, Chippewa County MN.  Mother's Siblings: Peder O Ensrud, Mrs. H. From Sandvigen.  Born: April 9, 1843.  Emigration: in (?) landed in New York.  Residences: 1 yr in WI; 3 yrs in IA and 40 yrs in Minnesota.  Occupation: Farmer for 20 years; Town clerk, 7 yrs; Justice of the Peace, 3 terms.    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church  School: Public schools in Norway  Married: Abigail Lageson Fragodt in July, 1872.   Children: Evine, October 26, 1873; Hanna, September 20, 1875; Leonard, born January 9, 1878; Oluf, December 29, 1880; Anne Marie, February 25, 1879; Oluf, July 15, 1894.  Parents: Lars Andersen Tømmerhagen and Else Olsdatter.    Paternal Grandparents: Anders Johnson, who died in the Swedish war, and his wife Olea.  

  

37-2 Hans Larsen                                 Lakeville MN

Name changed from Hans L. Hole.  From Malkjern, Hadeland. Born: November 10, 1846.  Emigration: April 27, 1869 aboard the "Anna Delius," landing in QUebec on June 18.  Residences: 5 yrs in Fillmore County MN; since then in New Market, Scott County MN.  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The Norwegian Synod.  School: Ambulatory school in Norway.  Married: Martha Jensdatter Sætre, Voss, Norway, on November 26, 1880.  Children: Joseph, 28 yrs old, born in New Market MN.  Parents: Lars Olsen Hole, farmer (born March 23 on Røgen farm, Hadeland) and Ingeborg Hansdatter (born January 2, 1818 on Mitre Dalen farm).  Siblings: Ole Larsen and Mons Larsen,  living in Lakeville MN, RR2; Marte S. Larsen, married to B E Rossum, Hills MN.   Paternal Grandparents: Ole and Martha Røgen.  Maternal Grandparents: Hans Jensen Dalen.  Father's Siblings: Ole O. Thingelstad, Anders O. Melkjern; Mons, who drowned in his best years,  and Paul O. Eid, all farmers; Guldbjørg, married to Peder Egnes; Marie, married to Ole O. Tovtveed; and Ingeborg, married to Erik Krogsund.  They all died a long time ago.  Mother's Siblings: John Hansen Dalen and Marta, married to Lars E. Vetsand. 

 

37-3 Sam Larson                                 Blanchardville WI

Born: April 30, 1872 in Moscow, Iowa County, WI.    Occupation: Farmer    Married: Maria Ingwell Finrud April 7, 1892.  She died on October 8, 1894.  Married second wife, Emma Hanson Eugen on March 4, 1897.  Children: Maria, 13 and Ina, 11, born in Moscow; Pearl, 9; Mildred, 7; Sherman, 5; and Martin, 2; were all born in Blanchardville.  Parents: Farmer Martin Larson (born in Jevnaker April 19, 1844, died October 12, 1908.  He came to America when he was 9 years old and joined the Army when he was 18) and Karen Hellandshaben (born 1850). Siblings: John Larson, Hollandale WI; Mrs. Chris Sorum, Hollandale WI; Mrs. Peter Jackson, Hollandale WI; Mrs. Jos. Watrude, Rice Lake WI; Mrs. Peterson, Rice Lake WI; Mrs. Clara Larson, Hollandale WI.  Paternal Grandparents: Lars Christopherson and Berte Olsen.  Maternal Grandparents: Lars Larson Hellandshagen and Elina Raknerud.

 Born: January 16, 1865 on Holter in Gran.  Emigration: May 8, 1883,  landing in New York on June 1st.  Residences: 4 yrs in Delavan MN; since then in Hudson WI.    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.    Married: John A. Lee on August 1, 1889.  Children: Jennie, 23; Arthur, 21; Alice, 16; Clarence, 12.   Parents: Farmer Peder Benson Holter (born on Ness in Brandbu) and Anne Hansdatter Enserud, Gran.  Siblings: Hans Holter, Jaren St., Gran; Bent Holter, Selby SD.  Paternal Grandparents: Bent Ness and Anne Ness.  Maternal Grandparents: Hans and Karen Enserud.  Father's Siblings: Bent Benson Baalerud.   

 

38-2 Peder Lere                                      Marion, LaMoure County ND

 Born: November 6, 1855, on Lere.  Emigration: 1887 aboard the "City of Rome," landing in New York.  Residences: LaMoure County ND.  Occupation: Farmer, president of the school board and township board.    Church: The Free Lutheran Church    Married: Kjersti A. Alm on November 26, 1879.  Children: Anna, Marie, Randi and Peder, all born in Norway; Hans, Carl, Arthur, Martin and Mabel Louise, all born in America.  Parents: Peder H. Øværn (born October 4, 1799) and Mari Evensdatter (born in 1812 on Framstad).    

 

38-3 Clara B Nilson Levorson              Osage IA, RFD 1

 Born: November 25, 1879 in Rock Creek IA.     Residences: Rock Creek.    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.  School: St Ansgar Seminary  Married: Farmer Otto B. Leverson on June 12, 1901.  Children: (See Otto G. Leverson, Osage WI)  Parents: Farmer Erik Torgrimson Nilson (born June 24, 1854 in Hadeland;  came to America with his parents in 1867.) and Inger Syverud (born July 29, 1857 and died January 26, 1910).  Siblings: Theodor Nilson, Osage IA; Martha J Nilson, Nora Springs IA; Mrs. Emma Krogstad, Nora Springs IA.  Paternal Grandparents: Torgrim Nilson and Mari Erikson  Maternal Grandparents: Ole Syverud and Beret Espelien, died October 14, 1870.  Father's Siblings: Nikolai T Nilson, died July 24, 1899; Mrs. Marie Jørgensen, Litchfield MN.

Born: October 2, 1878 in Albany, Green County WI.     Residences: Wisconsin 1878-1893; since then in Rock Creek IA.   Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.  School: Cedar Valley Seminary, Osage; diploma from the business school  (ole; C. C. C. College, Des Moines IA); completed a stenography course.  Married: Clara Bertine Nilson on June 12, 1901.  Children: Irene Sylvia, born August 16, 1905 in Des Moines; Elmer Oscar, March 30, 1907; Clarence Oliver, April 28, 1909; Norman lawrence, May 4, 1912; all born in Rock Creek IA.   Parents: Farmer and carpenter Ole O Levorson (born December 19, 1853 near Albany WI and Sophia Gothompson (born November 24, 1851 near Albany WI). Parents married on July 4, 1877.  Siblings: Mrs. Otilda Lunde, Nora Springs IA (b. May 15, 1881); Emmet Levorson, Osage IA (b. May 28, 1887); Oscar Levorson, Osage IA (b. July 29, 1888); Thomas Levorson (October 1883-January 26, 1912).  Paternal Grandparents: Ole Putten Levorsen (born in Drammen Norway Dec 21, 1804, died March 1887) and Oline Levorson (born October 26, 1819 in Aadalen Norway and died October 19, 1911). They were married February 19, 1846 and came to America in 1849, landing in Quebec.  Maternal Grandparents: Guttorm Guttormsen, farmer (born in Hallingdal, Norway and died at 33 yrs in an accident) and Thora Gaarder, who then married Ole Paulson Skinningsrud.  Father's Siblings: Mrs. Gjertrud Haugen, Osage IA; Mrs. Ellef Gaarder, Osage IA.  Mother's Siblings: Mrs. E. From Grinihagen, Hadeland.  Born: September 8, 1863.  Emigration: April 17, 1882, landing in Quebec on May 12.   Residences: Litchfield MN  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church    Married: Hanna Olive on March 20, 1889.  Children: Theodor Olaf, born November 10, 1889; Carl Johan, March 2, 1894; Mabel Josephine, July 19, 1896; Louis Alvin, July 19, 1896; Winnifred Gladys, October, 1907.  Parents: Thorsten Thorstenson (born in Nore Nummedal and then moved to Hadeland; came to America in 1882 where he died) and Kjersti Guttormsdatter Schervumsengen.  

 

 

39-2 Axel H. Lindstad                           Osage IA, R 2

 Born: October 28, 1893 on Vinørumsengen.  Emigration: April 9, 1913 aboard the "Columbia," landing in New York on April 22.   Residences: Rock Creek, Mitchell County IA.  Occupation: Carpenter   School: Public school in Norway.    Parents: Farmer and lumberman Hans H. Lindstad (born November 16, 1864 on Vinørumseidet and Maren Jakobsdtr.  Siblings: Harold and Inga in America, Jakob, Carl, and Marie in Norway.  Paternal Grandparents: Halvor and Kjersti Vinørumsengen  Maternal Grandparents: Jakob and Anne Vinørum.  Father's Siblings: Edvard, deceased.  Mother's Siblings: Marie Kristoffersen, Petrine Snellingen, Helen Bjørgesæter, all in Norway.  

 

39-3 Halvor Lundby                               Webster, Day County SD

 Born: September 18, 1856 on Lynner in Gran.  Emigration: April 17, 1885 aboard the "City of Chester," landing in New York on May 5.    Residences: Lake County, 1 1/2 yrs; since then, Day County.   Occupation: Farmer   Church: The Norwegian Synod    Married: Marthe Gudbransdatter Bjerkeiet; we were tenant farmers on the Haakenstad farm for 7 years before emigrating.  Children: Gunda and Karl died as infants; Hans, Anna, Inga Marie, Gunda, Caroline, Hilda, Martha, Ellen Amanda, Olaf, and Arthur.  Parents: Hans Halvorsen and Ingeborg Olsdatter, both died in America.  

  

 

39-4 Nels T Lunder                                Dale, Clay County MN

Name changed from Nels Torstenson.  Born: June 25, 1849 on Lynner-Eiet.  Emigration: On the Sailing ship "Munchen," arriving in Clay County in 1871.    Occupation: Farmer. Worked on the railroad the first year in America, homesteaded in 1873 and have created a wonderful farm.     Married: Berthe Gulbrandsdatter from Rustad in Jevnaker, Hadeland.   Children: 9 childred survive, 6 died.  Parents: Torsten Nilson and Dorthe Nilsdatter.  Siblings: Paternal Grandparents: Maternal Grandparents: Nels Olson Granovolden, grave in the Lunner cemetery in Gran, Hadeland.

From Lunner, Hadeland.  Born: June 9, 1859.  Emigration: May, 1880, aboard the Nordtyske Lloyd, landing in Baltimore.  Residences: 2 1/2 yrs in Freeborn County; 1/2 yr in Norway, 30 years in Clarkfield.  Occupation: Businessman and farmer.    Church: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church.    Married: Ingeborg Karlsdatter Rongstad on December  27, 1883.  Children: Ingenie, Hans Christian, John, Ingval.   Parents: Hans Johnsen, Lunner (born September 24, 1826) and Ingeborg Jensdatter Talang, Gran.  Siblings: Mathea Hansdatter, Norway; Ingeborg and Helene Hansdtr and Johan Hansen, Hartland MN.  Paternal Grandparents: John Torgersen and Mari Hansdatter, Ulverud, Gran.  Maternal Grandparents: Jens Olsen Talang and Malene Andersdatter  Father's Siblings: Torger and Anders Johnsen, Norway.

Born: April 16, 1866 in Gran, Hadeland.  Emigration: Spring on 1871, aboard the "Pontecorvo," landing in Quebec.  Residences: Hartland and Moorhead MN.    Married: Hans C. Ryen on November 12, 1899.  Children: (See Hans C Ryen, Moorhead MN)  Parents: John Lynner, farmer (died 1889) and Kari Lynne.    

 

40-3 Christopher J Lynne                   Hartland, Freeborn County MN

 Born: April 12, 1853 on the Aal farm, South Lynne, Gran Parish, Hadeland.  Emigration: 1871, with his parents aboard the sailing ship "Pontecorvo," landing in Quebec in June.  Residences: Hartland MN  Occupation: Farmer    Church: The Norwegian Synod. Married: Unmarried.  Parents: John Fredrickson Lynne (June 28, 1821 on Linstad farm in Aal, Gran, and died in Hartland MN Aug. 19, 1889) and Kari Christophersdatter Lynne (born on South Lynne on May 14, 1829 and lives in Hartland MN with her son.)  Siblings: Frederick and Paul Lynne, Hartland MN; Carrie Lynne Ryen, Moorhead MN; Maren, Anne, Maria, deceased.  

  

 

40-4 Carl Lee                                         Osage IA

 Born: February 9, 1890 on the Skjervum farm in Gran, Hadeland.  Emigration: 1907    Occupation: Farmer    School: Public school  Married: Kari Madson in 1914. She died in 1917.  Second marriage on November 1, 1919 to Della Randine Framstad.    Parents: Halvor and Berthe Skjervum.  Siblings: Kari Kamphaug, Kristiania; Karen Anundrud, Hadeland; Bertha Voldengen, Hadeland; Kirsten Skjervum, Hadeland; Mrs. Randi Wattum, Osage IA; Gilbert Lee, Plymouth IA.    

 

40-5 L P Melbostad                              Deronda WI

  Born: April 15, 1870 in Lakeville, Dakota County MN.      Occupation: General store and postmaster.    Church: Was a member of the Norwegian Synod, now belongs to the United Norwegian Lutheran Church.    Married: Kari Pederson on January 10, 1901.   Children: Irving A, born in MN; Stella M, born in Osceola WI; Lottie A and Søren Knut born in Deronda WI.  Parents: Farmer Anders P Melbostad, Gran, Hadeland, died in 1907, and Lise Ekern, died in 1905.
