From May 5-8, 2016 the umbrella organization for all the lags, the Bygdelagenes Fellesraad, celebrated its 100th anniversary. Thursday and Friday speakers and displays explored and celebrated the connections between ourselves and our immigrant ancestors, the Norway the immigrants left behind and the Norway of today, and the Norwegian-American heritage that the 29 lags help to preserve.
Hadeland Lag president Anne Sladky was a member of the planning committee and together with Lag member Diane Resvick was responsible the Norwegian Day Camp for kids held on Saturday, May 7. Barb Schmitt organized the lag's display. Dale Hovland and Lenore Jesness assisted her and the three of them greeted those who stopped by to learn about Hadeland. Descendants of charter members were recognized at a luncheon on Saturday. Nancy Letness and Tom Carroll, siblings and descendants of T. A. Walby, were present and among those so honored.
