Monday, June 20 |
The Sanner Hotel served as "home base" for the first 5 days of our Hadeland visit. On Monday, tour participants gather there. Dinner at the Hotel. |
Tuesday, June 21 |
Day trip to Oslo or Rest & Relax in Hadeland. In Oslo, Berit Brørby led a tour of the Storting (parliament) where she is the representative from Hadeland. Other sites in Oslo include the Viking Ship Museum, World War II Resistance Museum (Hjemmefrontmuseet), Frogner Park and the Holmenkollen Ski Jump. Lunch included. |
Wednesday, June 22 Gran |
Tour of Gran municipality. Guided tours of Grinakervev, the Steinhus, Gran Sentrum, Grymyr Church, and the Raukr Viking Museum. Lunch at the Sangnes apple farm. Dinner at the hotel followed by an evening concert by the KK Mannskoret (men's choir) at Nikoli Church. |
Thursday, June 23 Lunner Jonsok's Dag |
Tour of Lunner municipality. Tour included the Grua Bergverksmuseum (Mine Museum) and lime kiln, the Grua Church and the Skøien gjestegård and Solheim School. Lunch at Friland in Harestua. The longest day of the year! A cultural program by local musicians was presented in the evening. |
Friday, June 24 Jevnaker |
The tour began at the Hadeland Glass Works. A visit and lunch at the Norema Manufacturing Company (kitchen manufacturing) was followed by a tour of Kistefos Museum. On return to Sanner Hotel, a visit to the runestone at Eggemoen & information about early travel in the area. Coffee with members of the Jevnaker Historical Society. |
Saturday, June 25 |
Anne Lise Jorstad, a well known local historian, provided a special tour of the Sister Churches and Steinhus. This was the day for individual touring and research. Chauffeurs escorted participants to ancestral farms or other places of interest. Members of Kontaktforum assisted with genealogical research. Participants moved "up the road" to Granavolden Gjæstgiveri. There was a program at the hotel on Saturday evening. |
Sunday, June 26 |
Morning worship services at the Sister Churches followed by a special afternoon program at the Hadeland Folkemuseum. "Hand-work" Day included demonstrations of some of the "old" skills by local artisans. The old buildings in this outdoor museum were open. A variety of foods were available at the Folkemuseum. |
